I provide counselling for adult and teenage individuals of all genders, sexual orientations, and cultural backgrounds.
In-person sessions take place in the private and comfortable space of Artful : The Gallery,
located at 526C Cumberland Road in Courtenay, BC.

On-line and telephone sessions are available, as well as some evening and weekend sessions (in-person and on-line). Jane software is used for all on-line sessions and record-keeping, ensuring your privacy and PIPPA compliance.

Phone Consultation
Choosing a supportive counsellor requires ensuring there is a good fit between counsellor and client. This relationship is as essential to successful outcomes as the therapeutic method used by the counsellor. This 15 minute introductory phone call is to determine if we both agree that I can be of therapeutic assistance to you.
Your First Appointment
The first session is the beginning of our process of getting to know one another. It also requires intake paperwork, contact and consent forms, all of which requires additional time, even if much of it can be completed online prior to your session. Understanding the process of counselling is as important as the actual counselling, clarity about expectations and potential outcomes is essential.
Ongoing Counselling Sessions
Counselling sessions are usually scheduled once a week, at least for the first few sessions. Part of counselling is the collaborative work of determining and supporting your needs and goals, which includes the frequency and timing of your sessions. I have evening and weekend spots available to provide convenience and flexibility in scheduling.
The recent increase in on-line counselling through Covid has increased access to counselling for many, and requires specific attention to different regulations between provinces, as well as other countries. Counselling out of province (BC) is on a case-by-case basis and depends on the location of the client.

My rates are in accordance with industry standards: $125 for a 50-minute counselling session.
The remaining 10 minutes of each hour is used by me for record keeping and planning
related to our sessions. This session is held for you and a minimum
24-hour cancellation policy applies to each booking.

Methods of payment accepted: cash, cheque, etransfer, debit and credit card.

On-Line: Adult or teenage individual. Requires stable and secure internet or cellular connection, a device with audio and visual, i.e. computer, tablet or smart phone, a private space for the duration
of the session, and the ability to pay for sessions on-line.

Telephone: Adult individuals only. Requires stable and secure internet or cellular connection, a device with audio, a private space for the duration of the session, and the ability to pay for sessions on-line.
